Not your typical flutist. A little fanatical , a little crazy...
The story goes like this:
Having grown up with a band director Dad and a piano teacher Mom it was hard to not get involved in piano, flute, voice, and musical theater during my high school and college years. I received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance from St. Olaf College. I worked with some of the greats; Peter Lloyd, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Geoffrey Gilbert, Kay Sahlin at St. Olaf College, and the amazing instructors I had throughout high school: Jan Nichols and Jennifer Hall.
Shortly after receiving my degree and being presented with an open door to further my studies, I needed a break. I ended up spending several years in sunny Califonia. There, I had the oppotunity to work with exotic animals (lions, tigers, bears, oh MY!), made friends with an elephant, and obtained a TTouch Practitioner Certification. I worked as a manager for one of the biggest internet dating sites, where I met my fiance (how ironic, I know!)
Perhaps the "fanatical" title is starting to make a little more sense. Always a creative being, I have a hard time settling down. However, thanks to a recent and somewhat eerie series of events I've begun to realize that life doesn't have to stop to enjoy making music. Instead, why not bring a little music into your life!
